Frequently asked questions.
Getting started
What is Ego?
Ego is a lifestyle management app that combines notes, tasks, projects, calendar, mind maps, goals, and the Ego Assistant in one workspace.
What platforms does Ego support?
Ego is available on iOS and Android.
Is Ego free to use?
Yes. Ego has a free tier that includes all core features. Some features and higher AI limits require a Premium subscription, billed through your app store. See Pricing for details.
Workspaces & sync
What is a workspace?
A workspace keeps your tasks, notes, calendar, and settings separate — for example, work versus personal. Switch workspaces from the top of Settings in the app.
How does sync across devices work?
When sync is enabled in Settings → Sync & devices, your data is stored securely in the cloud and updated on each signed-in device. Turn sync off to keep changes on this device only.
Can I keep my data on just one device?
Yes — leave sync off and everything stays in the encrypted database on that device.
Ego Assistant
Can I use the Ego Assistant without an internet connection?
Yes. Enable offline mode under Settings → AI & offline to run supported actions with an on-device model. Cloud models need a network connection.
What can the AI actually do?
Draft and edit notes, break tasks down, propose goals, answer questions about your workspace — and it asks approval before it creates, changes, or deletes anything.
What are AI tokens?
A monthly usage allowance: 10,000 on Free, 100,000 on Premium. Usage is visible in Settings.
Billing
Where do I manage my subscription?
Go to Settings → Account → Manage subscription in the app. Plan changes and billing are handled through your App Store or Google Play account, not within Ego directly.
How does the referral program work?
Invite friends from the Social tab; when they join, you earn a free month of Premium.
Privacy & account
How do I control analytics and data collection?
Open Settings → Privacy & security. You can toggle analytics and data collection, review app permissions, and enable two-factor authentication.
How do I stop notifications at night?
Open Settings → Notifications and configure quiet hours. You can still allow urgent alerts if you enable them in that section.
How do I connect Google, Microsoft, or other apps?
Open Settings → Connected apps → Manage integrations. Follow the sign-in prompts for each provider. You can disconnect anytime from the same screen.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account in the app. This is permanent after the confirmation period, so export or back up anything you need first. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
